Congratulations John Kelly - Cornish Times Singles Champion again. John has won the trophy in 2017, 19 and 22.
Congratulations John Kelly and Glyn Coggon. Spencer-Davey pairs Winners for the 3rd time.
Men's team reaches Cup Final
At Lostwithiel the Men's A Team defeated Dunheved 60-49 to reach the Final of the Croydon Marks Cup.
Congratulations to Mandy, Sandie, and Ros on reaching the County Triples Quarter Final.
After winning three games on the tricky Saltash greens on the Saturday against a team from Liskeard and two from Bude, the trio had a home game on the Sunday morning against a Dunheved triple. Callington came through on an extra end in the Green Final. However, the ladies lost at Wadebridge in the quarters.
Congratulations to Mandy Jones who was selected for Cornwall Ladies County Championship team to compete in the Johns Trophy. This is the first time a player from the club has been selected for the event for over 20 years. Mandy contributed to convincing wins against Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Devon but Cornwall went out to Wiltshire in the Quarter Final.
One of the most successful events of the year was the "Bowl to the Ditch" competition, organised by Ian and Julie Stephen.
From alternate long and short jacks competitors were awarded 100 points if bowl finished within 2 yards, 50 points if within 4 yards, and minus 25 points if in ditch or out of bounds.
Saturday 20th August saw the visit of Waterside Bowls Club from Southampton.
The Waterside Secretary was David Rowan - brother of our Chairman Bill Rowan.
Callington ran out narrow winners 100-84 over 18 ends of a six rink game.
