Finals Disappointments

In Olympic terms it was a case of silver medals for Callington bowlers this year

On Thursday 8th Aug the men competed in the Top Team final against Bodmin and were defeated by 2-3. A good start from Martin Yeomans in the 2 wood Singles plus a steady contribution from Roger Ellards triple of Ian Srephen  and Dave Wiltshire gave the club the two points, but disappointing displays in the 4 wood Singles, Pairs, and Rinks saw a resurgent Bodmin Team go through to the Cornwall finals.

Also in  August he ladies played at Bude . In the morning the Captains Shield team of Cynthia, Laura, Mandy and Sandie went down by just one shot to Bodmin ladies.

The afternoon saw Mandy and Denise attempt to retain the Gawler Cup, but were beaten by  the home Bude pairing.
